Nick Pourgourides is the author of More, Please, a biography of the late actor Kenneth More CBE, and What You Leave Behind, a memoir exploring his family's experiences in Japanese prisoner-of-war camps during the Second World War.

Published in 2020, More, Please grew out of Nick's lifelong admiration for Kenneth More and his belief that an actor who had once been Britain's highest-paid film star should not be forgotten. The book became an Amazon bestseller and received personal acknowledgements from Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh, both of whom had known More during his lifetime. Its publication led to a wider campaign celebrating More's life and work, attracting coverage from the BBC, the BFI and The Daily Telegraph.

Nick's second book, What You Leave Behind (2022), began as a search for his family's past but evolved into a deeply personal reflection on memory, loss and legacy following the death of his first and only child. The book was praised by broadcaster and historian Matthew Sweet for its "tremendous emotional impact" and also became an Amazon bestseller.

Through his writing, Nick has supported charities including Variety, the Children's Charity and the Multiple System Atrophy Trust. Following the death of his mother, Kristine, in 2026, he wrote her obituaries for The Times and Nursing Times, an experience that inspired further research into his family history.

Nick is currently working on an expanded edition of What You Leave Behind, titled Beyond the Family Line, and a new book, Chaplin: Stranded, a creative narrative history in which a time-slip journey uncovers Charlie Chaplin's real-life footprints along London's Strand. Both are scheduled for publication in late 2026.

A third book, Fragments, exploring neurodiversity, identity and modern life, is also in development.

Much of Nick's writing explores a common theme: how people are remembered, and the stories that connect one generation to the next.
